Two Elk Energy Park Carbon Site Characterization Project
Major Objectives of the Project are to:
- review and characterize existing publicly available geologic and hydrologic data
- obtain additional data from the drilling of a characterization well through oil and gas reservoirs and saline aquifers underlying the Energy Park site to Precambrian Basement
- an approximate depth of 13,500'-14,000' (bgs)
- investigate the technical feasibility of carbon storage in the saline aquifers
- provide critical data regarding reservoir properties and water quality
